The Court of Accounts of the Kingdom of Morocco and UAE Accountability Authority strengthen their partnership in the field of Supreme Public Finances Auditing
On Monday, April 22, 2024, Mr. Humaid Obaid Khalifa Obaid Abu Shabas, President of the UAE Accountability Authority, and Ms. Zineb El Adaoui, First President of the Court of Accounts, signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation. This reflects the shared desire of both parties to consolidate and promote relations of friendship and cooperation, in line with the deep historical ties that unite the two brotherly countries.
Under the terms of the agreement, the two parties will contribute to the development of cooperation in the field of supreme audit, to enable them to achieve common visions and objectives. The two parties are also committed to implementing joint programs aimed at sharing experiences and best practices, notably in the fields of professional capacity-building and training of trainers, as well as working methods and their adaptation to the national specificities of the two institutions.
In her speech on this occasion, the First President praised the spirit of innovation and modernization demonstrated by the United Arab Emirates Accountability Authority. She also emphasized the benefits that this partnership will offer both parties, by strengthening their performance and tackling challenges, notably that of digital transformation and economic constraints impacting on public finances.
For his part, Mr. President praised the depth of relations between the two countries, and declared that this historic meeting reflects the aspiration of both parties to strengthen cooperation and meet common challenges for the benefit of both institutions.
Both parties expressed their shared commitment to making the necessary efforts to implement the provisions of this memorandum, in line with the concerns and interests of both institutions, with the aim of enhancing the impact of their work on the lives of citizens in both countries.
